Live streaming via OBS on a PlayStation 4.
I recently acquired a new computer specifically for broadcasting gameplay from my PlayStation 4 to OBS via an Elgato HD 60 S capture card. I’ve assembled the necessary equipment, including a Blue Snowball microphone, a wired headset with a microphone, a Logitech C922x Pro webcam, and a Tendak HDMI splitter. While I believe I have everything required for this setup, it's possible I’m overlooking some components I’ve already obtained.
When configuring OBS for streaming, I don’t encounter problems with the game capture or video capture configurations. Furthermore, I can successfully route my microphone audio through OBS utilizing either the Snowball mic or my integrated headset microphone. However, I’m experiencing a persistent issue: game audio isn't being transmitted to OBS via the Elgato card or any other method. I’ve meticulously adjusted all settings without success.
My desired workflow involves using the Snowball as my primary commentary microphone during streams. Simultaneously, I want my headset to deliver both game audio and party chat audio while solely sending the game audio to OBS, preventing redundant microphone input from the Snowball and headset. If this isn't feasible, that’s acceptable provided I can:
A) Receive game audio and party chat audio within my stream.
B) Communicate with my party chat through the PS4.
C) Interact with my Twitch viewers without experiencing concurrent dual microphone signals. I’m open to the source of the stream audio as long as both game and commentary audio are available simultaneously.
I trust this explanation is clear and complete; I haven't omitted any relevant details. Given my experience with PC builds, I anticipated a smoother process, but it appears that simplicity isn’t always guaranteed. Any assistance in resolving this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Hello maxcforton, did you achieve your goals?
I recently created a gaming/streaming computer for a similar reason as yourself. I'm now successfully capturing all game audio, including in-game voice communication (though I haven’t yet tested party chat), and streaming it to my OBS feed and recording it.
My headset (Corsair HS50) connected with the Corsair ST100 stand is linked to my computer, which enables me to experience game audio and voice chat through a surround sound system using the stand.
Additionally, I have a Samson G-Track Pro connected to my PlayStation PRO. I just finalized the setup last night late at night and didn’t have much time for thorough testing, but it appeared that my squad members could hear me speaking, and I could hear them (they weren't excessively talkative).
I plan to conduct further tests this evening.
