I successfully set up Linux Mint on the old machine I use for learning. The setup included Mint 21.3, Cinnamon 6.0.4, and a specific kernel version. My system is an Intel i5 3470 with Intel HD Graphics 2500, 16GB DDR3, and a 250GB SSD. I used Steam to install everything, but encountered an issue during the game launch. The error message was: "Failed to initialize Vulkan Please make sure driver and GPU support Vulkan 1.2+." After checking, it seems supported, so I’m ready for further assistance. What should be the next steps?

I don't have any idea where you discovered that, but Intel's documentation clearly states Vulkan support for Intel® HD Graphics 2500/4000 as "N/A." It seems there isn't a reliable alternative source there.

I found the details elsewhere after investigating the issue and discovered someone else had the same problem two days ago. They shared a lot of random text about their experience, but it didn’t help. I’m going to check an old AMD graphics card to see if that works. I thought AMD was the right path, but maybe not. I’ll close this as resolved.

This won't function with models built before the GCP release.
