You have an Alienware m15(2018) and want to run Linux, particularly Pop OS. The problem is that you can't control the Alienware fan lights or adjust fan speeds after installing Pop OS. You don’t need a dual boot setup. Consider using the Alienware Command Center interface in Linux for managing those controls.

Check out this tool for managing Alien FX effects. It’s not something I’ve used personally, but online reviews suggest it works well for controlling those lights.

Your airflow management relies on i8k, so you can't adjust the fans directly. You can only check the fan speed using certain software like i8kutils. However, I experienced brief freezes each time the system read the fan speed.
