I tested the Surface Pro 7 i5 tablet and really enjoyed it, but I strongly dislike Windows 10. Windows 11 is even more unpleasant. Honestly, the last stable Windows version I used was Windows 2000. XP SP3 and Windows 7 Pro are fine enough. My main concern is whether I can install Manjaro on an i5 Surface Pro 7. I wasn’t sure if Microsoft would have interfered. Blocking alternative OS means no booting. I’m planning to use the tablet as my daily device for running Manjaro. I’ll also leverage it to connect to my VM server, which is essentially a render farm for video editing, 3D CAD modeling, and flow simulations.
In theory, there should be no issues. Download Manjaro from the provided site, use an etcher like belena etcher to install it on your SSD, and it should function properly. For a quick test, you can also boot from a USB drive temporarily. Note that this may render the USB drive unusable afterward. Good luck!
