I'm looking at an ASUS Memeo Pad 7 and wondering if a Linux or Android-based setup could run Notepad, Google Books, and a browser without the performance hit from Android 5.1.1. I don’t have enough details about the hardware to decide confidently.

It's a challenging question you've raised. I believe you can find a Linux distribution that matches your processor type, especially with a 64-bit Intel chip. The article from Tablet Ninja could be a helpful beginning, though the process won't be straightforward. Good luck, and I'd love to hear your progress!

The issue involves keeping RAM usage minimal and possibly running in memory only. The Linux I recall is Puppy Linux. Flashing a stripped-down Android might be better due to bootstrapping challenges. Appreciate the article!
