Did you verify the source repositories? Did you execute apt-get update or upgrade? It seems the Linux XMINT version is likely LTS.

You should apply the do-release-upgrade for that. Unless Mint doesn't support it (which is rare), you might need to run apt-get dist-upgrade instead.
