You're facing issues updating your operating system on your HP EliteBook 2540p. It seems the installation isn't proceeding correctly. Have you checked the BIOS settings or performed a clean boot? Also, ensure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card and that your power supply can handle the new OS. Let me know if you need further guidance!

Others suggest switching the BIOS hard drive configuration from AHCI to IDE and reinstalling Linux. There’s also an option related to UEFI BIOS, but it appears limited to developer settings. Avoid using those changes.

UEFI or Legacy? Likely a BIOS problem, such as incorrect device arrangement. Always verify your HDD is listed first after installing a new OS.

I can check those links for you, but I don’t have the ability to visit them directly. Could you share the specific information or results you’re seeing from those sites? That way I can compare and help further.

I attempted to reinstall Linux multiple times, but it seems there isn't an option in the BIOS to switch from AHCI to IDE Legacy.

I located an option in the BIOS to modify it and plan to reinstall once updated. Further details will be shared later!
