Linux is gaining support for popular titles like Valorant and Fortnite.
I changed my computer to Linux and faced several problems with dual booting, especially since Windows didn’t accept my partitions. I’m hoping to try again but am prepared to adapt. Right now, I’m encountering issues with games like Epic Games and Riot Games not supporting their anti-cheat systems for titles such as Valorant and Fortnite. I really enjoy those games and want to play them with family. It’s surprising they don’t work. Anyone know if this will ever be possible? What’s the expected timeline? Also, I’m new to games like Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Overwatch, etc., where each has its own launcher. I’ve looked into a few but found it hard to set up Call of Duty after just a short search. Thanks for your help.
It varies. I've noticed many in the community express concerns about Fortnite support, even though I don't play it myself. There are several possibilities I'm considering. The influence of the tiny Linux user base might push Epic and Riot to include better support. Perhaps the community could create a workaround that mimics a Windows setup. Tools like Wine already exist for this purpose. If you have integrated graphics, redirecting your GPU to a Windows virtual machine could work as a gaming environment. Several users have successfully used this approach. Just remember, games such as Valorant won't function properly due to Vanguard (seriously).
Blizzard launcher on battle.net worked with Ubuntu Wine, and Warzone downloads seemed possible. I didn’t test the game directly, but Overwatch might be an option. Anti-cheat for eac/epic is probably not reliable.
