I understand you're exploring options for building a game on Linux. You're in college studying computer science and focusing on game development, aiming to use C# and Unity. You're interested in Linux as your primary OS and want to know about Unity's stability on it, especially since you prefer Nintendo support. You plan to start with mobile games while learning, without switching engines later. I'm curious how well Unity performs on Debian for game dev, and whether using a hackintosh would be a good idea if things don't work out. Your feedback is welcome!

Eh... unity doesn’t function well on Linux unless you rely on Wine. Consider using Unreal Engine, which supports C++ for Linux game creation. It’s free for students if you provide an educational email address I believe. Usually, a license costs hundreds of dollars. You might also try it for making 3D mobile games. Are you sure about a hackingtosh? Often it takes more time to develop and fix a hackitosh than to learn Linux.
