You're looking into driver support for your setup. With a Ryzen 4000, GeForce 30 series cards, and the ROG Strix X570-E motherboard, drivers should generally be compatible on Linux, especially if you're using a supported distribution like Ubuntu or Fedora. Just ensure you install the latest kernel and device tree packages for best performance. If issues arise, switching to Windows might be simpler, but Linux offers flexibility and stability.

It doesn’t look like Linux is necessary if you’re just playing games. You can use Windows 10 instead.

I prefer not to see the "activate windows" watermark and prioritize better speed and privacy.

It seems we're still unsure about the support for Windows.

No one understands the driver support for 30 series cards or Ryzen 4000 until they release it. I remember the 20 series faced some big issues, and based on my experience, I’ve mostly encountered problems with Nvidia drivers on Linux.

Try Linux on a virtual machine or live disk first. For gaming, Windows usually performs better, but you can spend around $100 to activate it without issues. Your hard drives should work well with many X570 systems, though you might need a newer distribution and NVIDIA drivers.

It's a continuously updated distribution, meaning it's relatively fresh. The exact kernel version isn't clear, but a Debian-based system like Ubuntu would be a good starting point for beginners. It offers extensive community help and a wide range of software options.
