We’re setting up a new home network with a dedicated access point in each room. One side connects via Ethernet, the other through wireless phones. These access points link to a main switch powered by the Velop router. The remaining two nodes connect using Ethernet, and one joins the main switch. You can still use a switch even if you hardwire the child devices together—it provides flexibility. Regarding performance, with gigabit service and 40 uplink over coaxial cable, gaming should handle latency well and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
