I attempted to mount OneDrive on Linux using rclone and then integrate it with Plex, but faced persistent issues. On Windows, I successfully mapped the drive via Explorer and the OneDrive app, yet Plex remained unresponsive. After numerous trials, switching to Raidrive to map OneDrive on Windows resolved the problem. Now I'm seeking a reliable alternative for Linux.

It's tricky to explain. I’ll state it clearly. To access a mounted Network Drive in Linux for Plex, you need to install the Plex app directly from the official site. You can’t use the App in the App Store or run Plex inside a container. This advice came from the Plex forums. The only solution is to use the direct App on Plex’s website. Could be the reason behind the problem. Would you like to know why local storage might be an option?

I checked the details, and it appears RClone is the primary solution since there’s no official OneDrive client for Linux. I saw you used RClone, but I’m not sure if it connects to Onedrive or can be accessed beyond Plex.

It installed successfully, but handling big files wasn't possible.

It seems the issue might stem from the connection quality between you and Microsoft. Internally you likely have fast links—1 Gbps or more—while online speeds can fluctuate. Additionally, services like Onedrive need to support many users, which may cause transfer speed restrictions.
