I have an ACEPC AK2 mini PC and the cooling fan is functioning, though the motherboard terminal was completely damaged. Some PCB components were removed during the destruction. Could you locate any alternative points on the board where I can connect wires to supply enough power for the fan? I was wondering if connecting directly to the barrel connector might be a viable solution.

The fan operates at a specific voltage, while the barrel connector specifies another. For years, I've adjusted cables, routers, and added heat sinks to keep them cooler. I prefer Noctua fans because of their quality and the included extensions that simplify my upgrades. I connect the end of an extension directly to the barrel connections on the board, allowing me to draw power from 12 volts for the additional cooling fan. This setup also makes it simple to swap the fan later if necessary.

It’s good to hear there’s a chance. The fan likely runs on 5V, but the barrel needs 12V. You might want to purchase a Noctua fan and check compatibility.
