Hi there. Your friend provided a 5+1 cinema sound system, but you're only getting the sub buffer working. The sound system doesn<|pad|> to not have an optical cable, so anyone, any idea on how to connect it to your work setup? I'm really confused. Right now you're using HDMI from your PC to the TV, and you want the TV's audio to go directly to the sound system. Thanks for the help!

You'll need a S/PDIF to analog 5.1 converter. Link the TV's optical output to it, then connect its analog outputs to your receiver. An example is available on Amazon; you don't need to purchase this specific model, but it fits the purpose.
