Hello everyone, here’s a quick rundown of your setup: mobile specs include an Aorus B650 Elite Ax GPU, RX 6800 XT, Ryzen 5 7600 CPU, 32GB RAM, Corsair DDR5 CL36 storage, and a WD M.2 1TB SSD. You’re using Corsair 850x fans with six Sickle flow AIO units and a 120A RGB cooler master. You’re trying to link all your fans, the AIO CPU cooler, and the RGB headers to the motherboard, but you’re unsure about connecting everything properly. Right now you’ve connected the AIO and top radiator fans and a few headers, but the remaining six fans need a single header. You’re wondering if you just need a controller or if there’s a better way to manage fan lighting through software. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

A controller is ideal when you have more gadgets than headers. If you link them together, they’ll illuminate but you’ll lose much of the control over the LEDs in the chain. Handling the connected devices would become very difficult. For example, the LED order could be flipped from one unit to another.

However, since everything is linked together and connected to a small controller via SATA power, it might be possible to daisy chain them to one header. This could affect the LED sequence or downstream behavior. I’m a bit puzzled because both fans and the case are lighting up, but I’m unsure whether the lights are coming through the Argb header or the hub they’re connected to. Should I skip using the hub if it’s not necessary for basic RGB operation? Thanks again for your assistance!
