Okay, so it does have a firewall? It would be nice if the product information would say so... I mean, maybe that is basic information that they got tired of repeating on every product page. Honestly, all of this is just to learn. I thought it may be possible to do this, so I tried. I have lots of old tech laying around and I am bored. I have no actual friends, only people who call me friend but never have the time to be around so then my tech is more of a friend to me than them. I never went to college for anything, but I like teaching myself things. I have many other projects I have worked on, such as putting Lineage OS on my galaxy s10+. That was actually successful! I will look into the suggestion I have gotten. I appreciate the feedback, even though it basically verified my initial thought: In order to do something like what I have in mind I would basically need to engineer a whole new system that does not exist yet. And, yeah. I do not have the time for that with how many hours I put in at my job building servers for a web host. In case anyone was curious: My end goal was to have a machine separate from my gaming rig to handle the video capture, security software, data storage, and so on; In order to allow my gaming rig to be unhindered by such things and run at peak capacity. . . If that makes any sense. The idea was inspired by the way you do video capture for a playstation, which is with a special cable and special software hooked to a PC. I know I can still use the secondary machine with that video splice cable to do video capture and livestream, but I really was hoping to have it handle network traffic for the gaming setup as well. Maybe in couple years someone will have an all-in-one solution for this.

I was working to fix a minor issue before the pandemic disrupted everything. Now, focusing on the matter, Bitdefender on desktop aims to track what programs are doing. Even if it functions as a router, it likely performs similarly to the Nighthawk but lacks the adaptability of an actual router. It won’t force Bitdefender desktop to reveal traffic by using a proxy, instead allowing normal internet access for all clients. Security tools generally block malware and alert you when suspicious activity attempts to connect. At the router level, the goal is to prevent access to risky content by blocking clients from reaching it altogether.
