Check the system requirements for the new RAM model. Verify that your current machine supports the specified speed and capacity. If needed, upgrade gradually to avoid compatibility issues. Ensure the motherboard and other components are compatible before proceeding.

Opt for assembling your own PC. This unit seems to lack proper airflow and likely features a basic motherboard and power supply. With a small upgrade or a slightly reduced board/SSD setup, you can achieve a faster RX 5700 graphics card and 16GB of RAM. Windows 10 might be installable without a key, or you could purchase one for around $5 on eBay. The case itself isn’t great, but the parts list is available online.

I totally understand her stance, though she tends to sidestep the hands-on approach. It’s the streamer who prefers a ready-made setup over building from scratch.

You might consider NXT's BLD service, though it's unclear how the pricing and parts stack up. Mostly sticking to the DIY approach seems to work. You can also leverage eBay credits to secure a 3700X at 0% interest for six months.

Even worse, the price is around 900$ for a better case, and that's roughly all you get. Close to what you were expecting for the parts list.
