If the BIOS restricts turbo limits, you may use ThrottleStop instead. Some BIOS releases offer a setting to adjust turbo limits, though this isn't always reliable with non-K series CPUs. As long as turbo limits remain unlocked, ThrottleStop functions properly. I adjusted my PL1 and PL2 turbo limits to 300 for the 10850K. If your CPU hits the 100°C thermal threshold, think about reducing the voltage. The standard voltage is too high; lowering it cuts power use and heat. A 15°C variation during a full Cinebench load can occur with the CPU, and after lowering voltage, the 10850K stays cool even with 10 cores.
