Limit CPU consumption on Arch for an extended period.
It's showing signs of wear, having used its last battery after just a short time. It's been plugged in for months but now it's deteriorating rapidly, shutting down immediately if the CPU is held too long. I'm using EndeavorOS daily and need to limit CPU usage to around 60% until I can afford a better replacement. I'm considering a ThinkPad P1 Gen 3 or X1 Extreme.
Using the Windows power plan, you can limit the CPU usage to any level you prefer
You might explore cpupower-gui in the AUR or other options listed on Arch Wiki. https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/CPU_frequency_scaling
This appears to be the solution you were looking for, though it isn't providing any useful assistance. I'm glad you're marked as solved, but I understand your preference to steer clear of Windows and Microsoft software.
Have you attempted to operate the laptop without using the battery if it's not a thermal shutdown issue?
I won't share without a post, it's not thermal, but Dell didn't apply threadlocker so the screws kept coming out... I fixed it with some of my own and now it won't fall apart again.
