I obtained a Windows 8.1 copy at a discounted price thanks to my professor’s mother. My goal is to install it on a new motherboard and CPU once Skylake arrives. The product key was emailed, but the message mentioned it’s for Windows 8.1 Professional Upgrade. The site didn’t specify an upgrade license. What are the guidelines for using a Windows upgrade license? Can I cleanly reinstall Windows 8.1 from an ISO and activate it with this code?
