A few weeks back my PC got infected with a virus that slowed it down severely. I attempted a restore but it failed. Then I downloaded a Windows 7 Home Premium service pack 1 ISO from PCWorld to reinstall the OS. I used a key finder tool because I didn’t have the license key and found the product ID. After reinstalling, the activation message appeared demanding 15 days before Windows would activate. I’m not interested in purchasing a new key and don’t have much time to wait for Microsoft support. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Regards OBieLegend.

Click contact Microsoft, dial the toll-free line, and reach out by phone. Expecting your key to work, but note that frequently using your computer may limit how often you can normally activate it.

They want the CD key, not the product code.

It seems you're likely wasting time searching for workarounds. Better to consider other options like getting a new Windows 7 copy or using a key generator—though the latter isn't safe or reliable. Microsoft is probably the only trustworthy choice. Tell me more about your situation and they’ll assist.

Ensure every laptop has a sticker at the base, linking its CD key to the motherboard. Use that sticker.
