Hello everyone, I just completed a major upgrade to my setup. A key improvement was adding HDMI 2.1 with VRR support, which fully utilizes my LG C9 that does support VRR. I turned it on both on the driver side and TV side—Instant Game is working properly, and I see the correct information appears when PC signal is selected. HDMI Ultra Deep Color is also active. Unfortunately, I still experience noticeable screen tearing. It’s especially bothersome with slower scenes; even at 90 fps, it looks terrible without VRR. I noticed this in Witcher 3, which runs below 120 fps, so I expected it wouldn’t occur with VRR. Sadly, LG doesn’t provide meaningful debug details, and on my PC side it seems to be active. Am I misunderstanding? Does VRR actually resolve the tearing issue? Is there anything I can do about it?

FreeSync isn't activated in Adrenaline. If you can't turn it on, consider watching the suggested content.

Does this occur in every game? I still experience occasional screen tears on my 3070 during C3 and my older Nvidia PC monitor. It seems to vary by title—sometimes it appears when loading, other times it disappears once I’m ready to play. It feels unusual, but games like Rocket League can show tearing at startup, though it clears before I need to move.

Stay within the VRR zone (below 120fps) to avoid tearing. Keep the frame rate near 118fps or enable VSync for stability. (C2 user) Even though their C9 is somewhat outdated.

It's quite small and disappears quickly. Since my 1070 had the same issue, I didn't pay much attention. Vsync fixes it, but it doesn't seem to be a big deal.

It is active, but performance drops below 120 fps. I need to verify if this issue occurs with other games too. Based on what I know, this shouldn't be a problem. I also expect fullscreen mode to work properly, so that should be enabled. Please confirm and double-check. Thank you for your help—I didn’t receive an email and was just playing on my monitor.
