The method I rely on is VSYNC to prevent tearing. It works well, but even small frame drops cause noticeable stuttering—especially around 59.x and 58.x. Some scenes look choppy between 59.9 and 59.8, while others freeze completely for a brief moment. Turning off VSYNC feels much smoother, though the stuttering remains intense. My sister uses a different PC with a 780, and Adaptive Sync helps her, but occasional tearing still happens. I’m wondering if Freesync could be another option. Besides stopping tearing, it also seems to smooth out any frame rates that fall within your monitor’s capabilities, giving a more consistent experience. Friends and family confirm that 50 frames per second feels much better than 60 FPS with it enabled.
Shut down the feature in the game settings and use a game profile or adjust the frame rate target.
