Hey, I see you're upgrading your PC case. The Corsair 4000D Airflow is a solid choice, but it does limit the number of triple radiators you can fit front. Since your current case only supports three at the front, adding another might not be possible without adjusting the layout. You should check the exact dimensions and ensure the new radiator won’t block airflow or interfere with your GPU placement. It’s a good idea to verify compatibility before proceeding.
That's at minimum a new mobo and chip and if they're already doing that going latest gen makes sense so also new RAM. So *money*. And frankly, the 9700K is still pretty kick butt. I have a rig that's 9700K/3080Ti and I get 4k60 pretty comfortably on most things.
It seems you're questioning whether spending money on a case that doesn't improve performance is worth it, while also sharing your own preferences for frame rates and resolution. You're curious about how things look at 1440 or 1080p and whether non-HT/SMT models can still perform well in busy environments.
I work with 4K displays to boost focus. My main machine is a 5950X/4090 that handles 4K120 smoothly, while the second unit only has a 4K60 screen and a DP1.2 KVM—no need to push further. I don’t spend much time adjusting settings or running tests. I’m not into fast-paced games; they’re too taxing for my mind.
