Hey there, Manijs. I heard your girlfriend uses a Lenovo T550 ThinkPad and isn’t too familiar with Windows yet. Have you seen anyone try to run Linux on it? What challenges did they face?

I haven't tried that model yet, but I've worked with older IBM Think Pads prior to their acquisition by Lenovo. These devices perform well on Linux systems. Many come pre-installed with Linux OEM versions.

It seems unclear why it wouldn’t function properly. I’d consider giving Zorin OS a shot. I’ve been experimenting with Zorin OS 12 Core lately and really enjoy its interface and overall experience.

Absolutely great! Perfect for users unfamiliar with Linux. Zorin offers features that closely resemble a traditional start menu, with a layout that feels familiar.
