I own a Lenovo Legion 5 (2021) Gaming Laptop. The specifications are as follows:
AMD Ryzen 7 5800H (8C / 16T, 3.2 / 4.4GHz, 4MB L2 / 16MB L3)
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 6GB GDDR6, Boost Clock 1425 / 1702MHz, TGP 130W
Two 8GB SO-DIMM DDR4-3200 modules
512GB SSD M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0x4 NVMe
During intense usage or gaming, the GPU temperature can reach up to 86 degrees Celsius and the CPU up to 87 - 89 degrees Celsius. Is this typical or should I worry?
I've had this laptop for about eight months and haven't cleaned it much. The room temperature is usually between 24 and 28 degrees Celsius.
This is just a discussion because I'm not entirely sure if it's safe.
The cooling system in your laptop will not bring those parts below the surrounding room temperature. Since the CPU temperatures aren't extremely high, it can handle up to 100°C and will reduce its performance to maintain a lower heat level. The GPU is currently warm to hot, with temperatures expected in the low to mid 70s, which makes it more prone to thermal throttling. However, you're operating it in an environment warmer than these ideal ranges. If you can modify the fan speed for either component, I recommend increasing the GPU fan speed to keep it as close as possible to room temperature.
