Lenovo ideapad gaming 3 runs smoothly at 5fps across all titles.
Hello, I'm facing a pretty issue with my girlfriend's laptop. It's a Lenovo Ideapad gaming 3 with 8GB RAM, an AMD Ryzen 5 5600H processor and integrated graphics. Initially, everything worked fine during Raft with solid frame rates. After two days, the laptop wouldn't even start the game, only reaching about 5 frames per second in the main menu. I changed settings to the lowest, uninstalled graphics options using DDU, then reinstalled them via the Nvidia app, but it didn't help. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
Sure, I can run FireStrike and provide a link to the results.
I won't be able to transmit any data from the PC at the moment since I'm away. However, I already checked the temperatures and the GPU on my desktop is between 36 to 40°C. It seems there might be an issue, as I don't hear the fans spinning up during games. I also ran an online GPU stress test, but the browser froze completely. Thanks for your reply!
Upon launching the Nvidia control panel, it displays as though the GPU is managing the laptop's graphics.
I noticed the GPU temperature spikes dramatically during startup and then drops quickly, even though it stays around 45°C. It seems thermal throttling is happening. You might want to investigate fan behavior, power delivery, and possibly check for driver updates or hardware compatibility.
I configured it to utilize the NVIDIA GPU but there was no improvement...
I decided to reset everything and clear everything. I noticed the upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11. My girlfriend encouraged me to try Windows 11, saying she didn’t like its appearance, and I agreed to update first then wipe it out. After installing Windows 11, I launched the game and it ran smoothly at 60fps. Problem solved!
