I explored all possible adjustments. The issue persists with the Skydiver benchmark, giving me poor results. It looks like performance improves when the game is easier to handle. Only when it runs smoothly does my card perform well. That’s why Skyrim feels so smooth compared to other titles.

Maybe it's the more outdated version.

I'm not sure about this. I've seen similar issues in other games from the previous console generation—screen tears, flickering lights, and my GPU acting up. I've tried updating drivers and tweaking settings, but lowering my FPS only helped a little. Even then, it still runs poorly. But when I play games everyone else is struggling with, it feels smooth. So I tend to stick with more demanding titles

Played through numerous versions and mods, including all updates, yet it still won’t run smoothly. Performance issues are severe, with noticeable screen tearing and flickering—often brighter top sections than bottom. The Blood Dragon mode is particularly problematic, making mouse movement difficult and requiring very low DPI settings just to view the game.

I noticed you might want to switch to compatibility settings. In Warcraft 3 I experience a random bar flashing, but it works in Windows 8 (8.1 Kek). XCOM sometimes shows tearing or frame skipping when zooming into base areas. Chivalry has black elements flickering. Mozilla also had pink bars flash once. Valley, Heaven, Witcher 3, Shogun 2 and others are fine.

Poop, the only one I have had is XCOM the weekend it was free. It ran fine, but I didn't play it long. I've never had an issue with browsing, though YouTube can be of a lower quality than my wife's Roku. Do you have Quake 4? I could try that.

I'm having troubles with resolution and I can't properly run in fullscreen. Here's an example of what I'm talking about

There seems to be an issue with your CS:GO setup not supporting multiple monitors.

It seems you're wondering if your system is still running XP.
