I don't rely much on Workshop for anything. Now I have Train Valley 2 with a new map editor. I want to look at maps but can only do that by giving thumbs up or down. Not detailed ratings like stars. It doesn't matter if it's added to the game or not. I understand reviews are available for some maps, but is there something I'm overlooking? For example, do I need a Steam account to leave a review? The game is in Early Access—just buy the first one if you want to try it out. 1 and 2 look very different in style and graphics, but the core concept stays the same. It's a puzzle game about trains.

You can give a thumbs up or down on the mod's page in the workshop, or watch MXR create YouTube videos.

It's an unusual method where votes are tallied as positive or negative values.

It appears so. This is a page from an arma 3 mod I found randomly. Those are the only controls I've seen. Steam doesn't really do stars as for full release games, people tend to thumbs up or thumbs down. Minor history lesson: YouTube used to use stars to rate videos however Google found that people would tend to rate 5 stars or 1 star if they rate. I believe other websites came to this conclusion as well. Minor history lesson over.

It's a bit disheartening. There are moments when I feel level isn't entirely ideal, though it's not a major issue.
