I’m looking for ways to manage my Mac from my PC for work tasks. I understand tools like Synergy exist, but they need a separate screen and I don’t have room for another one. Do you have any VNC options that let me control a Mac locally without remote access? My worry about VNC is that it makes remote connections too simple, which isn’t ideal since I only want local control through my home IP. Is this really something to worry about? Unfortunately, both the PC and Mac need internet access for certain updates.

Is it over LAN or WAN? The safest method with VNC is to set up a VPN for security. The easier option is to use something like TeamViewer.

This limits me to relying solely on my PC's screen, so I must find a way to share it. I can't use a KVM switch because I need to view everything live.

No, VNC isn't the sole method for controlling a Mac. Other options include using built-in tools or third-party applications.
