I previously ran Windows 7 on a 500GB HDD until I switched to an SSD last year. I installed Windows 8.1 on the SSD for quicker startup. When I powered on my PC, it displayed a choice screen asking for an operating system. This process has been smooth unless I select Windows 7, which causes the machine to restart. I wondered if there’s a way to disable that option. Additionally, I recently downloaded Windows 10 via Windows 8.1. After the download completes, the system configures itself and restarts, returning me to the same screen prompt. I suspect this might be preventing Windows 10 from installing. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

In Windows 8.1, launch msconfig via Start, type "msconfig," enter, then navigate to the Boot section. Remove your Windows 7 entry and confirm by selecting it and pressing Delete. Click OK and restart the computer.
