I don't recall the operating system's name, but I remember it being extremely poor and thinking "no one should use this." No matter what it was called, it won't fix your problems. Identify what's consuming all your CPU time and address that instead. Otherwise, you'll just fall back to square one in a few weeks or months, adding ten more issues by choosing an OS riddled with security flaws.

Edit: Discovered the name—it was Atlas OS. But honestly, it's a terrible choice. I strongly warn against installing it. It won't solve your concerns and will likely create even more problems.

ReactOS is a Windows emulation project that's still in development and not recommended for regular use. It seems to have appeared on some channels before. The latest video about Atlas OS isn't a direct clone; instead, it modifies Windows by removing many unnecessary components, resulting in a smaller footprint but also disabling several background features. This approach creates significant security risks, leaving users vulnerable if issues arise.

Identify the root cause of the CPU usage. Switching to another operating system won’t resolve the issue.

ReactOS runs on Windows 2000, but I haven't found any NVIDIA drivers for it. It doesn't work with the GPUs I've tested, like the GeForce 6800 and GTX 960. It seems unsuitable overall.

It's essentially just a few windows. The new version looks fresh, but my CPU is still the main limitation in games, so gaining more performance would be helpful.

Thank you for the ideas, the strategy was always to explore it more deeply.

That's correct, Atlas. I recognized the potential dangers, and additional investigation was part of our strategy. Thanks a lot!
