Latest PC setup, no power and unclear troubleshooting steps
Assembled a PC, but when connected it shows no power. The fans aren’t moving and there are no lights. I’ve confirmed the switch is active, verified the outlet works, tested shorting the power connection, unplugged/reconnected power cords, and even tried swapping out some cords. Still unsure what to fix next.
You've verified the device side, but what about the connectors on the power supply end? Make sure both sections of the ATX 20/24 pin are securely connected. Also confirm the front panel connectors are positioned correctly. It's easy to misplace them based on the manual's orientation. The board seems to be fastened only in two spots, and the brass standoffs aren't visible through the unused holes—are they meant to stay that way? I wouldn't typically connect USB headers during startup.
Here are the details you asked for:
2) Check if your motherboard is properly seated in the standoffs—it might not be screwed in if it came ready to go.
3) It’s possible the power supply is dead; you can run a paper clip test to see if the fans operate or use a multimeter to check the voltage.
