Just put together a fresh system, here are the details. Previously built a few rigs but followed this tutorial to ensure stability. Ran tests on the bench and found no signal when power was switched on—no response even when manually touching the switch. Attempted full installation inside the case and still got nothing. Checked PSU separately with a paperclip test and fan spin, confirming it functions. Tried booting without the GPU, same outcome. Swapped all cords and components, double-checked connections, but nothing changed. I’m worried my graphics card might be faulty, though I suspect some simple beginner errors I missed. Appreciate any advice.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600 3.8 GHz
CPU Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE 66.17 CFM
Motherboard: MSI PRO B650M-P Micro ATX AM5
Memory: G.Skill Flare X5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30
Storage: 2x Crucial P5 Plus 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME SSD
GPU: Gigabyte WINDFORCE OC GeForce RTX 4070 12 GB
Case: Fractal Design Focus G ATX Mid Tower
PSU: Corsair RM750 750 W 80+ Gold Certified (fully modular)
Optical Drive: LG WH14NS40 Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Writer

Start the system without a graphics card and use just one memory card. Check each memory slot to confirm all are functioning properly.

Capture an image of the board with the PSU connected to confirm everything is correct. I’m wondering if a faulty PSU might have been used. The outlet appears solid and the switch is active at the back. It could also be that the board is dead. Check for any debug LED activity, but without power, it seems like we’re dealing with a nonfunctioning unit.

Thank you for your reply. Attachments included. Let me know if you'd like alternative angles. The PSU fans started up after I manually turned them on using a paperclip, which suggests it's functioning properly.

It seems you've explored many solutions, but it would be helpful to go over this article again and double-check for any overlooked details before moving forward with further troubleshooting.

You’re experiencing no power and all connections seem correct. The most likely issue is a dead motherboard. It’s frustrating, but damaged boards do happen. You might want to assemble the PC outside the case. I recently heard a story about someone whose motherboard shorted out during setup, stopping the system. Edit: just double-check your post—you already did that. Send a return request for the board.

You might consider refreshing bios with the flashback technique.

I faced the same issue with a fresh mobo setup. I had to take apart the whole system (excluding the PSU) and reassemble it. Once fixed, it started working properly. Likely the problem was a small gap somewhere between the motherboard and case. Remember, today’s hardware relies on BIOS versions; flashback can help if your gear supports it. Wishing you success!
