I wasn't sure about the newest operating system for that MacBook from 2007. It seems it might still work with something like OS X 10.9 or later, depending on updates.

I acquired my cousins' MacBook from early 2008 and successfully installed OSX Yosemite without any issues.

I was going through some research and discovered that having more than 2GB of RAM would work, though I wasn't sure if anyone else had tried this before.
