But certain boards only work with specific CPUs after updating the BIOS (for example, B450 boards need a BIOS upgrade for 3rd gen Ryzen). To switch to a newer CPU, you'll need a board with flashable BIOS or an older, compatible CPU first. If your CPU is officially approved, you shouldn't have any issues.
