Latest B450 motherboard model available.
I'm searching for a suitable new motherboard within a $100 budget. You have a 3600 and an ASRock B450M R4.0, but they aren't ideal for your future Ryzen 3000 plans. I'm focusing on options with solid power delivery and good overall performance. Avoid anything that's only compatible with 4-pin CPUs like your current setup. The B450/B550 line is a good fit here.
I'm thinking in USD and assuming your setup is based in the USA. Since there aren't many listings on PCPPS, some good options include the B450 A pro max (not the mATX version), the B450 Pro4 (mATX or ATX models or Pro4-F), B450 Mortar Max, B450m Pro Vdh Max, and the B550m Pro Vdh Max, all reasonably priced around 100 dollars or less.
The Tomahawk Max offers solid performance and reliability, making it a solid choice for many builds.
They look quite alike, but the Pro4 includes a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port and a USB C port, whereas the Pro VDH lacks these features.
the b550m pro vdh features four phases with eight 4C029N and eight 4C024N modules, whereas the b550m pro 4 uses six phases with SM4336 and SM4337 in a doubled configuration. The vdh model outperforms unless constrained to the pro 4 setup; otherwise, the vdh is superior.
