Hey everyone, I hope everyone is doing okay during these challenging times. (Hope your families and you are safe). I’m thinking about upgrading my 4960x to a 5600x. (Not really into the fanboys, just new, shiny, and performing well) The main issue is picking the right board. I was looking at the GB Aorus Master, but its appearance is tempting me to go with it even though it might not be worth it compared to the master. Any suggestions? I’m aiming for the best possible clocks, and I’ll be using a custom loop setup that can be reused after the upgrade. (GTR360 + GTS 240 + eisblock). All thoughts welcome!

really no point in going past 200 bucks on a board for a 5600x. literally any b550 would be more than enough for overclocking it, and chances are that an x570 for you would just be paying more for less as b550s have better vrms at the same price points, for example the x570 aorus master versus the b550 aorus master. but any of the 150-200 dollar boards would be overkill even, lol

I see the board will be quite extensive... But based on my current setup, I’m used to building and I’ll upgrade later. The most extreme option is definitely too much, which is why I also talked about a master board. No issue with the B550, just not aiming for a midrange model. I’ll review the list—thanks a lot! Currency conversion feels off by a factor of 16, making it hard to set a budget. I have access to many mid to high-end boards from Asus, Gigabyte, Asrock, MSI. Which platform should I use to get a budget in your local currency? Not the biggest fan of MSI, but I’ve helped friends with their warranties (mainly GPUs, though my taste is questionable, that’s just how it is). Smile EDIT: Fixed some edits and sorry for the delay. I work during retail hours XD
