But when you look at the feedback from those who weren’t all shouting “OMG MICROSOFT IS STUPID,” it becomes clear that some Linux distro creators push updates faster than Microsoft. They likely face similar challenges. It seems Microsoft is signaling that older Windows versions might not get support as time passes. If you need to keep using Windows 7, you’ll have to stick with the newest OS. For the cutting-edge experience, you’ll need the latest software.

It's quite straightforward. Windows 10 will be the final version of Windows (hence the mention of Windows as a service), and it will keep getting updated through various releases until the near future. The only part that will end is the specific builds (Redstone 1, 2, etc.). If you miss the upcoming release by the deadline, your Windows experience will stop. That's the main point. As I mentioned earlier, it's simple.

Inkwell, whatever you read, said that security updates for SKYLAKE would continue, other than that, Windows will always have security updates. And by the way, AWESOME account picture

Major changes are released to Windows 10 every few months. The first version was Build 10240. In November 2015 came the Update 10586, and an Anniversary Update was issued in August 2016 (Build 14393).
