You just finished the process, took out every bit of thermal paste you could find and cleaned the socket. It might still be there, perhaps I missed some.

You might attempt to clean it again, but unless your money is unusually costly, it could be worth trying before heading to a repair shop. If you decide to bring it somewhere for fixing, I strongly suggest choosing a service that focuses on custom builds. A typical "PC repair" store isn't the ideal choice. In fact, it's the last place I'd consider taking it.

I'll try again—appreciate the tips. It doesn't seem to be starting, so I'm not sure if the alcohol has completely dried. I'll check tomorrow and reassess. Thanks for your support!
