Hi! It’s tricky without more details, but based on what you’ve shared, the RAM is likely designed for around 1.2V since it’s DDR4 at 2133 MHz. However, voltages can vary slightly depending on the exact model and region, so it’s best to double-check with a multimeter or consult the manufacturer’s specifications.

Do you recall the laptop's brand or model? I can try to look it up online. It seems likely it operates at 1.2V. If it supports DDR4 L, that aligns with that voltage. Standard DDR4 might also default to 1.2V under JEDEC standards, though overclocking could push it higher, possibly up to 1.35V (XMP). Note that XMP is not very common on laptops.

Thank you for your input! The laptop model is an ASUS F550-VX. For the CPU, 6700HQ only supports up to 2133 MHz, which suggests it's likely using its base clock. There’s no mention of XMP in the BIOS, so it should work fine as-is, especially if you add another RAM stick.

2133 MT/s meets JEDEC standards for DDR4, eliminating the need for overclocking or XMP settings. A 1.2V voltage is recommended. Many compatible modules are available from Crucial, which lists upgrades for various notebooks: https://eu.crucial.com/compatible-upgrad...sus/f550vx This doesn't require purchasing exclusively from them, though it's likely their specifications align with those offered. All listed modules support 1.2V.
