I am searching for a premium laptop featuring 3 to 4 T hard disk storage with SSD.
My current Dell XPS 13 is still in good condition but will eventually require replacement.
I noticed the XPS 15 offers a 4T option, though it comes at a higher cost.
Could you have any recommendations for more affordable models with similar high storage capacity?
Thanks.

Google? 4TB SSD won't be affordable unless it performs well.

It seems more economical to purchase a model with a smaller storage capacity and handle the replacement yourself.

I use a library for research that requires 2T. Attaching an external disk is quite difficult now. 3T would also suffice. Can I purchase my own 4T SSD and install it in any laptop? Will it fit without issues, avoid configuration problems, and maintain warranty validity?

It would likely be possible. You’d have to identify the specific model and purchase a replacement to swap in. Moving the operating system and data files is feasible, or you could simply reinstall the new operating system on the updated drive.

Would this typically impact the warranty?

Not exactly what I was aware of. Still, make sure to understand the warranty terms thoroughly. And, you could always try restoring the original drive before submitting it.

Yes, that's accurate. It varies by location and country. Plus, if the gadget supports dual-sided SSDs, a 4TB drive will likely include chips on both sides.
