Laptop power cycle and Windows update didn't resolve the issue with the external monitor.
I possess a Dell XPS 15 9520 device equipped with an Intel Iris Xe graphics card and an Nvidia 3050. It runs Windows 11 Pro, featuring an i7-12700h processor and 32GB of RAM. I utilize two external monitors—a 32-inch 4K Samsung screen and a 1920x1200 Asus monitor. Frequently during Windows updates, including Dell firmware updates, I would perform the update only after disconnecting my monitors, then power off the laptop and reconnect them afterward. After rebooting, the main 32-inch monitor would display DisplayPort instead of functioning properly, while the Asus monitor worked fine. I have downloaded the Intel Arc Control driver multiple times, suspecting it might be the solution. I noticed a specific version labeled 32.0.101.7077 in the Intel downloads, which appeared when my main monitor failed to turn on and only showed DisplayPort. However, older versions didn’t support this release. I also found an update for Windows 11 that included a Dell BIOS patch. I’ve tried updating both Windows and BIOS without monitors connected, but the main monitor still only shows DisplayPort. I’m unsure if the correct link exists or if I need to revisit this driver.
