Laptop doesn't recognize the GPU.
About two years back my graphics card stopped functioning in my laptop. I couldn’t figure out a solution, but someone here might help. It doesn’t appear in the device manager, so I can’t install new drivers. Now my computer is using the built-in graphics card, which isn’t working well. This happened roughly a week or two after I first upgraded to Windows 11. It’s frustrating because I have to learn how to fix it myself. My PC originally came with Windows 10, but I updated it about a year later. The CPU is an Intel i7-9750H and the GPU is an RTX 2070 (Alienware M17 R2 from 2020).
I found limited details about that laptop online besides its specifications. I’m unsure if it’s compatible with your setup, but I’d consider reinstalling Windows 10. There’s no certainty the GPU will be restored, but this would help determine whether the issue is hardware-related or software. If the GPU isn’t listed in Device Manager, you won’t be able to use DDU or update drivers.
Consider switching back to Windows 10 to check the situation. Does it appear in the BIOS? I've heard some updates can trigger this problem, so it might be related to Windows changes. If it shows up there, a fresh clean installation via USB is your best option, though you'll lose data on the C: drive. If not detected in the BIOS, you may not have much chance.
