laptop battery drain occurs when power is used more than expected.
Hello everyone! I've noticed my XPS 15 9510 is draining the battery quickly, even with the larger battery this model supports. I can't get more than three hours away from the power source, no matter what I do. I know the OLED 4K screen uses more power than a standard panel, but that's not enough to explain the issue. For instance, when I put it to sleep and closed it for 20 minutes, it only lost about 10% battery—unexpected, especially since I have to shut it down every time I carry it in my backpack. It seems to overheat and drain the battery faster than expected. Although the Dell app says the battery health is excellent, hwinfo64 shows a significant degradation (around 25%). This shouldn't be normal after a year of use. I didn't reinstall Windows upon purchase, but I did disable any unnecessary startup processes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I checked the details carefully. The modern standby feature isn’t available in your current firmware version. You might need to update your system or use a different power management setting.
It's not happening, though I've kept my laptop safe from burning itself out over the years.
