This seems unusual. When both the HDD and SSD are present in the laptop, the SSD isn't listed in the BIOS boot options? Does the SSD function independently without the HDD? Are the SATA bays set up as slave and master? Edit: One possible fix could be to reinstall Windows on the SSD, removing the HDD first, then reconnecting and formatting the HDD through Windows. However, this might not be practical. You might try using a Windows 7 recovery disk to fix the installation, though success isn't guaranteed. It likely points to a BIOS boot configuration issue.

I can still utilize the SSD through its Windows interface when I select it in the boot manager. However, the BIOS and HDD are causing issues. It functioned properly for two weeks until I removed an unused recovery partition. Or possibly the BIOS or the HDD (likely the HDD) is the root cause. I plan to reset it and test if it works. Also, how do I configure master or slave settings on a SATA drive?

Good suggestion, if you format the HDD then proceed. It might help clarify things. You can't assign SATA devices as master or slave, but I thought the idea was to set up the laptop so one drive bay stays the main boot drive—it’s unlikely to matter.

I adjusted the drive settings and it keeps attempting to boot, displaying the message "bootmgr is missing press ctrl alt dlt to continue." The SSD still launches Windows smoothly.
