The problem lies with the LGA 1700 ILM, not the IHS itself. Avoid voiding your warranty by sanding off half the CPU—this won’t solve the issue, as the CPU will simply become bent with the same level of damage. Instead, purchase a contact frame from Thermalright or Thermal Grizzy for about $10 to $20, and it should resolve the issue.
