I'm puzzled by the low FPS in Mafia II despite your adjustments. The lag persists even at the lowest settings and high resolution, with your system specs showing strong components. It seems the issue might lie elsewhere—check for background processes, update drivers, or consider lowering graphical effects further.

Check the BIOS settings to find your RAM speed. Also, confirm that all necessary drivers, particularly the video driver, have been installed.

It’s better to configure your RAM to its rated speeds in the BIOS, but changing the default BIOS settings won’t have a major impact. You should check two things: 1. Does this match other games with similar quality? 2. Are your operating system and drivers compatible with both your motherboard and graphics card?

Oh yes, Watch Dogs run at a constant 60 fps with everything maxed. . Another reason why I am baffled by this game. .

It seems the issue might be with the game itself. The most likely solution is to reinstall it.

Check if Mafia II is available through Steam. If yes, ensure the game cache integrity is verified.

Also verify if PhysX processing is allocated to the GPU. Assigning it to the CPU may lead to performance problems, whereas dedicating it to the GPU with a dedicated chip ensures smoother operation.
