Lagging
Lagging
Recently while using Steam games (Rainbow 6 Siege, Battlefield 4, Total War), the performance has been quite slow. This issue occurs during multiplayer sessions. A speed test shows a download speed of 37mbps and an upload speed of about 6mbps. My system includes a 4th generation i5 processor, GTX 960 graphics card, 8 GB RAM, and a 1TB WD Green SSD. It seems my system isn’t severely compromised, and the problem hasn’t been present before. I suspect it might be related to the hard drive, though my friend believes it could be due to graphics card performance. Could it also be caused by software or internet connectivity if it only happens during multiplayer? Please advise, I’m not sure what to do.
You're asking about the meaning of the word "lagging," which is commonly used in certain contexts. It's important to clarify its usage before proceeding.
Lag refers to network delays, ping spikes indicate brief connectivity issues, stutter suggests RAM or storage problems, fps drops point to hardware limitations, and high GPU usage is common. WD Green's HDD performance is notably slow for gaming, operating at 5400rpm versus Blue and Black at 7200rpm.
