Hi everyone, I'm trying to figure out what's going on with my gaming setup. When playing CS:GO, my frame rate drops from around 200 FPS to about 40 and then back up again. The CPU speed chart looks like a pattern—spikes from 1.5 to around 3.7. My system has an i7-3770 with an Intel Core i5-8400H, paired with an 1650 processor, 16GB RAM, and a 240GB SSD. Everything seems new except the software. The Cinebench score is 1378 and 3DMark time Spy is 1420. The issue happens when the CPU speed drops. In Minecraft it's similar, but my temps are normal. No crashes or blue screens. Just noticed after a fresh Windows 10 Pro install. Any ideas? Thanks!

The CPU acts as a limitation and the PCIe speed isn't sufficient for smooth performance at 200 FPS. Therefore, either reduce the frame rate to 60 FPS or 90 FPS, or upgrade the processor.

Which motherboard are you using? It seems like there might be a VRM thermal problem.

I don't think that's correct, the frame rate falls to 30-40, I've limited it to 60, but the issue persists.

It's a BIOSTAR H61MHV3, I'll look at the VRM temperatures, thanks. I'll share the results later.

VRM temperatures stay below 60°C, I'll process a return for the CPU, thanks to all of you
